Do Not Disturb: Artists Having Fun!

This weekend didn't go as planned. Not one thing on my list went as planned - thank goodness, and it was just what the slump therapist ordered. My dear friend (and artist) of 42 years made a spur of the moment trip to visit me and we had a blast in the experimental lab! What fun we had trying out all sorts of techniques and experiments with our materials, and our only regret was the speed at which the time flew by. Mostly, we played with colored pencil, solvents, layering, and mixed media, and I resurrected trashed paintings from long ago for use as guinea pigs.

This has been a long slump, but I'm slowly shaking it off, and I can thank not only fun moments of exploration and experimentation, but my good friends who are always there to lend support, advice, and good times.

Wow! I had no idea you had posted about our weekend. If it hadn''t been for Marian giving me a heads up, would have missed it. As I told you while I was there, love this painting and the way the horse glows!!!

I really like this idea - I have several unfinished paintings from over 30 years ago that my dad held onto and gave me to finish shortly before he died in 2007. I put them away, and recently found them when we moved to Boerne. I would like to try to resurrect some of these with some new techniques and fresh medium.
I really enjoy your work. I hope we can meet soon. Karen Camp speaks highly of you.
